Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Does a school have to be “CCAPP-approved” to meet CCAPP certification requirements?
Not necessarily. Your school does not have to be CCAPP-approved, but its curriculum must meet CCAPP’s academic content requirements. Attending a CCAPP-approved school saves time because CCAPP already has its curriculum on file, so no extra documentation is required.
If your school is not CCAPP-approved, you are required to upload complete course descriptions or syllabi for each class with your transcripts. This is done in your CCAPP Credentialing Application in Certemy. Applications without this documentation will not be accepted.
How do I find a CCAPP-approved school for SUD counseling education?
You can use the CCAPP Education “Find a School” directory to see all CCAPP-approved schools. Find a School
How do I find a CCAPP-approved CE (continuing education) provider?
If you are a CCAPP Individual Member, you can get free or discounted courses at Counselor Magazine’s Counselor CE Hub. You may also explore the many CCAPP-Approved CE Providers on our “Find a CE Provider” directory: Find a CE Provider
