For counselors seeking education in co-occurring disorder treatment, CCAPP has partnered with Hazelden Betty Ford to offer Focus on Integrated Treatment (FIT). FIT combines "best practices" in substance use disorder and mental health therapies. The interventions used throughout each of the 35 training modules include evidence-based therapies, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and Twelve Step facilitation. FIT was designed to help counselors build the knowledge and skills needed to successfully integrate the treatment of clients with co-occurring disorders.
CCAPP has partnered with the Distance Learning Center for Addiction Studies to offer online distance learning coursework to individuals seeking credentialing as well as counselors needing continuing education credit. CONTINUING EDUCATION HOURS - Once you have obtained a credential from CCAPP, you will need to maintain it by obtaining 50 hours of continuing education every two years. This 50 hours (10 of which can be professional development) must include six (6) hours of education in the area of ethics.
